Obsidian Liquor Blurb
While a brutal competition of America’s heroes is held in the United States, Elizabeth Forter is on a personal mission to destroy the Mayor of New York City. But when she’s caught red-handed by a man who kills for a living, her enmity rapidly turns to fear.
Daniil Kozar isn’t a man to trifle with, and Elizabeth is forced to strike a deal with the mafia king. Her every action is watched, and she needs to decide how to handle the gun-toting criminal–and his seductive charm.
Daniil may be the devil her father warned about.
The Book that I overlooked
Ok, I’m human. All day, everyday I make mistakes. I’ve seen this book (and series) pushed at my on Goodreads and Amazon. I blew them off. The cover was not that appealing and the book blurb was the same. But I finally read this book in May. Then I Re-Read it a few months ago. Now, I’m thinking about reading it again. Now I need to be honest with you a little bit more. When I say I need to re-read this book, I kind of think of all 3 of the books at ONE Book. This book is only 175 pages, which for me, is a novella. The second is 423 pages and the last is around 200 pages. I digress. Sorry.
I feel stupid that I didn’t read this series sooner. Elizabeth Forter is a news reporter who goes to a charity event organized for security companies. Lion Security is one of the best in the states. Everyone – family, celebrities, companies and journalists – arrive there for two weeks, where they will compete with others and raise money for charity.
Daniil Kozar, is father of co-owners the Lion Security and the Russian mafia king. He will do anything to protect his children. So when he sees that crafty reporter revolves around them, he takes matters into his own hands. Daniil underestimated the feisty lady and they end up drinking too much, singing country songs, and having sex. The morning after is eye opening for Elizabeth, what with being threaten with death by Daniil. ? ‼️ I love their interactions. Danill is so used to been THE BOSS that when Elizabeth, stands up to him it’s refreshing and when she defuses his temper, you get to see the beginning of a good couple. They could balance each other. It is adorable and funny.
This book is all about introducing the crazy cast of characters. (And there are a few) Daniil has a big family. Take my advice and read all three as one book.
