My Take on the Book :
If a Hallmark movie could be a book and NOT make you want to vomit from the sweetness, this would be it.

My Review of Christmas at the Castle by Melissa McClone
Katrina “Kat” Parsons has had a hard childhood. Pawned off on her grandparents when her parents go off to do research in Africa, Kat finds affection in farm life. She loves helping with the animals around the farm. In eighth grade, her grandparents make her go to summer camp. She hates it, but she meets Sophia and her stuck up brother Gill. Sophia and Kat become fast and close friends. They go to camp every year to see each other and Sophia even visits Kat on the family farm.
Gill has always been the spare, not the heir to the throne, until his older brother abdicates and Gill is forced to come to grips that the life he thought he would have is over. It’s a big adjustment for him. He expected to be a teacher not king.
This story verges on sugary sweet. I eat Christmas tree cakes by lil’Debbie all December so this book fits in with my current diet. I’m not much for Christmas but this book has just enough Christmas to help the story and not enough to make me want to kill everyone who ever sang a Christmas carol. (You know those people) (Sorry if you are those people… good for you….please don’t come any closer)
