About the Book
All you need is a little luck.
Lexie Berry has had nothing but bad luck. You name it, Lexie has probably survived it-or worse. But there’s only so much bad luck a girl can take, and now one promise is all that stands between her and a brand-new life.
When that promise brings her to Carnal, Colorado, Lexie isn’t sure the rough, yet strangely charming, town is for her. But there’s something Carnal has that might just make staying around worth it . . . and that’s Ty Walker.
For five years, Ty was imprisoned for a crime he didn’t commit. Now he wants revenge on the people who framed him. Lexie knows there’s a difference between vengeance and justice, and she’ll do everything she can to make sure Ty gets the latter. And with the good people of Carnal on their side, Lexie and Ty might finally find their luck is changing for the better.
My Review of Lady Luck by Kristen Ashley
Lexie has had a rough life. No family and from foster care, her one and only love her boyfriend Ronnie was killed, shot 7 times for living the wrong kind of life. She was mad at him and herself for not walking away. Now because of the circles her ex ran in she was under the thumb of a drug dealing pimp name Shift. So when she was asked to pick up a guy getting out of prison and take him where he wants to go she felt like she had no choice but to do it.
After meeting Ty she realized she got played by Shift. He gave her to Ty to be his wife because Shift owed him. Ty instead offers her a deal-become his wife and he will pay her 50k and get her out from under Shift’s thumb forever. So she took the deal knowing it would give her the new start. She was supportive, sweet and goofy. Her goal was to always make the best of their awkward situation and if she made him smile and laugh in the process, all the better. As much as I loved Ty and I did I loved Lexie more. She had that something special about her that really shined through the pages and felt tangible.
Ty was a hard man. He lost 5 years of his life for a crime he didn’t commit. Dirty cops in his town set him up with the help of his ex to take the fall for another dirty cop. To say he was bitter and mad as hell was a understatement. He formed a plan to get married to a woman that was clean to be his alibi so he can get his revenge and she’d have his back covered. So right before he was released he called in a favor from a drug dealer/pimp that owes him. That favor, sent him a woman that isn’t a druggie or whore that he can marry for an alibi. He stepped out of the prison and was greeted by Lexie. Lexie– beautiful, goofy. Her soul shined bright.
Soon after he married her, he decided he wanted to keep her. He decided he wanted the real thing with Lexie. He did his best to make her happy and keep her safe from his past. Lexie and Ty’s relationship was raw, intense and passionate. They had each others backs. They were supportive and gave their all to the relationship. There was some sweet and funny moments in their relationship, some really sexy moments and there were some moments that ripped my heart out.
One of the things I loved about this book is there is a lot of Tate in this book. We get to see Krystal, Bubba, Jim Billy, Laurie, Jonas, Deke and Wood again too. One thing I think really makes this series awesome is the amazing secondary characters. I mean the heroes are super alpha, the heroine are sassy, and trendy, but the secondary characters have so much depth and heart I can’t help but fall love with them all. This book was a total winner for me.
