This may be the fifth book in the series, but you can read each of these books as a standalone. It took me NO time to relate to Belle. I get her on a level I don’t get some of the other main characters of Kristen Ashley books. Some, may call her a bit boring, but I don’t think so. She’s withdrawn and for a good reason. The mystery aspects of this book were well done, too. Twists and turns are scattered through out this book. Some broke my heart for a moment, others really made this book a great read. This has been a great series over all. If you are on the fence about this story, try it. They have funny, rich secondary characters and Jack isn’t an over the top alpha male. This felt much more fairy tale like and the hero was much more balanced.
This book IS a true ghost story. (None of that sub plot stuff from other books in these series) It’s a bit complicated at the end. With so many secondary characters and points of view the end of the book is jam packed with POV switches. I liked the book. I’m glad I read this one. Jack and Belle’s relationship is sweet.
