Just finished reading “Hidden Hollywood” by Kylie Gilmore. It wasn’t a book for me. It was just OK. It’s about a movie star – think Julia Roberts in Notting Hill, but Hugh Grant is a billionaire twin.
My take on HH: I really wanted to like this book. I did for the first half (if that counts for anything). I think my biggest issue was the writing style of the author. (Sorry, Kylie Gilmore) If I was brave enough to write a book, it would suck for ANYONE to not like it, but here it is: The writing style is rushed. Rushed when you want to see the H & H develop, rushed to move time along in the plot, especially rushed at the end to finish this whole thing off. RUSHED. You don’t get the payoff of seeing the characters fall in love. It’s light switch love, one moment they are off, the next they are on. Wanted to like this more. I really did.
